What's Happening at The Rock December 3rd 2017

Help Needed: The Communications Ministry is looking for someone to look after our website. Please talk to Julie L. after the service for more information or if you're interested.

Church Rentals: Anybody that is wishing to use the church facility, or reserve a room for an event can be in contact with Susan E. to book a space.

Membership & Baptism: In order to become a member of the Rock or to be baptized at the Rock, a person must attend membership or baptism classes.  If anyone is interested in taking membership or baptism classes, please speak to an elder.

Mark your calendars! 

The privilege of praying together: Our weekly worship prayer time is each Tuesday from 7 – 8 pm.

Men's Breakfast and Bible study: 
will be held on Saturday, December 2nd at 8 am. We will be continuing our study on the book " The Measure of a Man". All men are welcome. 

Children & Youth Volunteers: The Abuse Protocol refresher for all volunteers working with children or youth will be taking place on Thursday, November 30 at 8:30 p.m. or Sunday, December 3 at 9:50 a.m. Attendance at one of the sessions being offered is mandatory. If neither of these dates suit, please talk to your steward or Pauline C.

Budget Meeting: There will be a short meeting on December 03, 2018 immediately following the service to review and approve the Rock Community Church 2018 Proposed Annual Budget as presented by the elders. Attached you will find a copy of the proposed budget.

Christmas Potluck: We will be having our Christmas potluck on December 10th immediately following the service. There will be a sign up sheet available on Sunday. If anyone is interested in cooking a turkey please Gloria, Janet or Eleanor.

Women’s Bible Study: Will be starting January 11th. They will be taking place on Thursday mornings from 9-11:30 and Thursday evenings from 7:00-8:30.  We will be using Sue Edwards’ book 1 Peter - Discovering Encouragement in Troubling Times. Ladies are asked to purchase their own books in advance. Please look for Bible study sign-up sheets at the back of the church!



The Deacons will be collecting Personal items and Food items over the next week to donate to DASO. Please take a look at their list of needs to see what you can help with! Thank you!

Cookies, crackers, cereal, school lunch items, snacks tea, coffee, juice boxes, canned pasta, salad dressing, peanut butter, ketchup. 

Ongoing Craft needs

Adult colouring books, Sharpees, markers, washable paints, white glue and glue sticks, canvases, face paints, party plates, tablecloths, streamers, balloons etc. White t-shirts for women & children (tie dye crafts), epsom salts. 

Gift Certificates

Goodwill, Wal-Mart, Grocery or Drug store, $20.00 gas cards, Tim Horton's ,McDonald's, Dollar store, Pre-paid Visa or MasterCard, Pre-paid cell phone cards.

Toiletries & Clothing

Hair conditioner, face wash, nail clippers, nail polish, tweezers, Tampons, Pads, Pajamas (all sizes) for women and children, Socks and underwear for women and children.

Urgent Shelter Needs

Twin Bed Sheets sets, Towels and Pillows, HE laundry detergent, Bleach, Dryer sheets, Plastic totes, laundry Baskets, Braun Ear thermometer covers, Foam hand soap, Diapers, Diaper Genie refills, Kitchen house ware, Table fans.
